Our methodology

Useful facts, without false certainty.

The index favors broad global coverage while keeping a strict boundary: every role must be both genuinely technical and directly connected to conservation.

01

Discover

Watch established job boards and the careers pages of conservation organizations worldwide.

02

Verify

Require an actionable paid role, a meaningful technology function and a defensible nature-conservation connection.

03

Normalize

Record source facts for work location, remote boundaries, competence and language without filling gaps by inference.

04

Publish

Deduplicate copies, route uncertain records to review and link every published job to its canonical application page.

05

Recheck

Refresh active sources daily, confirm disappearance twice, retry bounded link failures and retire roles only after a reliable closure signal.

Included

What qualifies

  • Currently open, paid professional opportunities
  • English-language source ads for roles requiring only English or Swedish
  • Software, data, GIS, hardware, field tech and adjacent functions
  • A direct wildlife, biodiversity, habitat, ecosystem or restoration outcome
  • A real employer and working application path

Excluded

What does not

  • Generic sustainability, ESG or carbon roles without a nature connection
  • Courses, events, inactive talent pools or vague unpaid requests
  • Personalized rankings, match percentages or transition scores
  • Listings with no attributable source or application route
  • Volunteer project matching, which belongs to a later phase

Unknown means unknown

We do not turn silence into a legal conclusion.

If an advertisement does not state salary, language or a precise work location, the value remains “Unknown” or “Not stated.” “Remote” never means “remote globally” unless the source says so.

We store normalized metadata and a short excerpt when full-text reuse rights are unclear. Employers and source owners can request corrections or takedown at hello@moonleafearth.com.
